DESCRIPTION:The EventDate: Tuesday 18th NovemberTime: 9.30 am to 12.00 – Arrive for a 9:30 start and finish at 11:30/12:00 finish (numbers dependent)Venue: The Institute (Bocking Arts Theatre)Price: FreeRSVP: Respond now \n  \nOrganised by BDPSSSA with support from BDCEP.  \nAs many of you may know\, we recently lost a great friend\, colleague and teacher\, Gerry Smyth. Gerry was passionate about PE\, especially Dance. We wanted to reintroduce Braintree Dance Festival in Gerry’s name to celebrate her while also celebrating all the wonderful dance happening across our schools. We would love for as many school groups as possible to join us for this. \nWhat is it?: \nAn opportunity to come together to share and celebrate dance across the Braintree District. These can be dances developed through the PE curriculum or a lunchtime/after school club. All ages and abilities welcome! It will be a sharing of dances so there is no pressure for perfection\, just joy. \nHow it will run: \n\nPlease arrive in PE kits ready – costumes are not necessary (unless wanting to) but please arrive in them.\nEach school and dance will be listed in the programme which will be the order of performances.\nAll school groups will sit as the audience and so have an opportunity to watch and celebrate other schools’ dances.\nWhen it is your school’s turn to perform\, you will make your way onto the stage.\nThe music playlist will be pre-prepared so please send details in with plenty of time (preferably by 17thMay).\nPlease bring a drink and snack to have partway through the performances.\nAt the end of the dance festival\, all children will be able to leave with a Braintree Dance Festival Programme\, with their name and dance in\, to remember the event.\n\n
