Anglian Water Eco Advocates Award
We were delighted to hear that 3 schools in Braintree District achieved the Anglian Water Eco Advocates Award. This is an annual award and there will be a new round starting in September 2025.
We will post information in early September 2026 so that more schools can get involved.
De Vere Primary School were particularly keen to share what they had learnt whilst carrying out the water audit of their school and shared this in their school newsletter: “With the help of a visitor from Anglian Water, the eco team carried out a water audit of the school. They tested to see how much water was been used in the school toilets and worryingly they found that one tap was using 2.5 litres of water each time it was pressed. The Eco Team shared their findings in a school assembly and gave tips on how to save more water.
Holy Family Catholic Primary School held a whole school poster competition, these then were displayed around school.

Feering C of E Primary School found a slight leak whilst carrying out their water audit in the school, They passed this on to their caretaker who then tightened the pip to stop the leak. The pupils also shared the information in a parents assembly as well as taking the home audit booklets home and sharing those with their parents.
